anterior acrylic copings (Fig. 15-24). The interocclusal space was bisected along an imaginary horizontal plane, and the upper castings were made to that plane (Fig. 15-25).

A wax interocclusal record of centric relation was made, and a full arch maxillary plaster index was taken for the fabrication of a full arch splint constructed in three quadrants (Fig. 15-26). The two posterior acrylic-and-gold veneer bridges were interlocked with gold dovetails into deep rest seats that existed in the cuspid restorations of the anterior porcelain-baked-to-metal restoration. Lower castings were processed to close the "gap" that existed by bisecting the imaginary plane (Fig. 15-27) .

Endosseous vent-plants were then set into the

bone distal to the last abutment tooth on each side of the mandibular arch (Fig. 15-28). Two unilateral acrylic-and-gold bridges were fabricated from the impressions (Fig. 15-29). These were tried in the mouth, balanced for proper occlusion, and then cemented with oxyphosphate of zinc cement (Fig. 15-30).

Case 3

Restoring a Class III malocclusion to a Class I relationship with maxillary and mandibular blades

In Linkow's opinion, the transition from a Class III to a Class I relationship should be accomplished by using the prostheses to restrict the closure of the mandible and by leaving a freeway space between
