ing bone, it was extracted. The remaining three teeth were prepared for new full crown restorations.

Blade implants were set into the bone in both right and left posterior quadrants of the mandible and into the completely edentulous maxilla (Fig. 11-160). Temporary acrylic splints were processed

for the patient to carry him over until all the tissue had healed.

When the tissues had healed (Fig. 11-161), all necessary impressions were taken for upper and lower full arch fixed dentures. These were made in acrylic over gold, because the materials are lighter
