x-rayed. The pins were fused together with acrylic using the brush-on technique (Fig. 10-60). (Note that in this case, one of the first scalloped template cases, no vertical mushroom pin heads were included to fuse the pins to the template.) With a tapered diamond bur, the hardened acrylic cores were pre-pared for full crown restorations. Their outlines followed the underlying contour of the gold template (Fig. 10-61).

At this point either a full arch elastic impression or   as in this case   two unilateral rubber impressions may he taken (Fig. 10-62). The impressions included the gold vertical posts, the prepared acrylic cores, and the scalloped template existing between them. A wax interocclusal record of centric relation was also taken. From the impressions two unilateral fixed partial dentures were waxed, cast (usually in one piece), and processed.

At the next visit, the tissue around the implants and crowns covering the teeth was checked carefully for any impingement from remaining cement or acrylic. The two fixed partial dentures were tried in the mouth (Fig. 10-63) and balanced, and then the
