A subsinus bladevent can also be used between posterior teeth, and may provide an important adjunct to prevent further deterioration of the situation. In this young patient, an open-socket bladevent was used between the first bicuspid and the second molar (1,2). The four unit restoration (3) was cemented with hard cement (4), and the occlusion carefully checked and balanced (5).

Similarly a deep-bodied bladevent was used in a long span (1), with its distal edge set under the sinus (2) and its proximal in the stronger, deeper bone typical of the more anterior portion of the ridge. The restoration included both central incisors, primarily for esthetic reasons (3).
