Pterygoid extension with palatal struts

endosteal blade

left

In this unusual case, a posterior bladevent extends into a sturdy tuberosity to provide—together with two anterior teeth—auxiliary endosteal support (1) for a modified pterygoid extension implant. The implant extends around the entire arch on the hard palate (2), with labial extensions flanking the teeth (3). The posterior anchor on the right side is a pterygoid extension, the other a coping for the bladevent (4, arrow). An impression is taken over the healed tissues (5) for the final restoration (6).
