Two single-posted implants often more maximally utilize the available span. Each implant can be seated to take better advantage of the available bone and avoid its flaws.

support

The single-tooth bladevent here acts as the anterior abutment for a four-unit restoration, preventing the sacrifice of the more anterior crowns for inclusion in the restoration. The single-tooth implant is inserted between a second bicuspid, which has undergone root canal therapy, and the cuspid (1,2). A bladevent is also set behind the natural tooth. Thus three abutments (3) provide strong support for a four-unit restoration (4).
