Endosteal blades

multiple implant abutments, one molar remaining

A beautiful example of the deceptive padding of maxillary soft tissues! An apparently thick ridge (1) was severely undercut (2). The ridge was not reduced, leaving the extra bone at the crest, but the bladevent sockets were angled decidedly palatally (3) to avoid the undercut. Bladevents were inserted. Because of the bone picture and the socket angle, it was necessary to withdraw the bladevent with a modified crown and bridge remover (7) to countersink the posts (8). A f ter healing (10), impressions were taken for the final prosthesis (11).
