Here the anterior teeth were so loose (1) that they were extracted by hand. Very little damage was done to the residual ridge during tooth extraction (2). An open-socket bladevent was used anteriorly (3), crossing the mid-line to anchor the shoulder in the bone between the two former central incisors. Posteriorly other bladevents were inserted (4), and the restoration eventually seated (5,6). As with all cases, the occlusion is carefully checked and balanced.

Endosteal blade

left posterior premaxillary blade

The patient was bilaterally, posteriorly edentulous, with very unattractive anterior teeth (1,2). A double-posted, sinus-circumventing bladevent was inserted on one side of the arch (3) to anchor a fixed palateless restoration that extended only through the first molar (4). Unopposed, more posterior crowns were unnecessary.
