Endosteal blade posterior free-end saddle

The more bladevent in bone, the better the support. Here a deep-bodied bladevent (3) is set in front of the sinus. Although this old-fashioned design does have one shallower shoulder, the overall design is relatively deep. Correctly seated (5), the bladevent provides sturdy support for the restoration (7,8). Note that it is carried out only through the first molar (8), thus cantilevering only one unit posteriorly.
