Endosteal blade posterior free-end saddle

This is one of the older cases still functioning nicely. The patient was unilaterally, posteriorly edentulous (1). Her cuspid and first bicuspid were prepared as natural abutments (2,3), and a special sinus-circumventing bladevent used (4). The single abutment (5) posteriorly anchors a handsome restoration (6). Although the bladevent has intruded into the sinus (postoperative radiograph), it is secure. Apparently the sinus membrane remains intact, and the bladevent's shoulders are strongly braced in bone.
