Another bite and index were then taken of the copings in the mouth.

Five porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns were fabricated to fit over the atypical copings. These were flared out buccally to meet with the lower posterior teeth.

A final wax interocclusal record of centric relation was taken (Fig. 15-10), followed by a plaster index of the entire maxilla. The five porcelain-fusedto-metal crowns were picked up with the plaster. The master stone model was then poured and articulated, with the stone model duplicating the lower full arch splint.

A specially designed template was waxed up. Extending from the template were predetermined hollow copings in the region of the central incisors and two internally threaded systems. This latter feature allowed the dentist to easily replace the anterior prosthetic appliance by screwing it on and off the template as the patient matured.
