Fig. 12-120. A posteroanterior roentgenogram of the maxillary toroplant and mandibular subperiosteal implant.

The template was cemented over three protruding implant posts with hard cement. The excess cement squeezed through tiny vents along the lateral walls of the gold covering the implant posts (Fig. 12-118, B) . The implant denture was then seated into position by snapping the female attachments over the male attachments, which were soldered to the palatal template (Fig. 12-118, C) . The dentures were care-fully articulated and balanced (Fig. 12-119) .

The completed case is seen in the patient's mouth (Fig. 12-119, D) , and a final posteroanterior roentgenograin shows the lower subperiosteal implant and the maxillary toroplant (Fig. 12-120) .

Because the resilient type of attachments were fixed to a rigid palatal template supported by the toroplant, the maxillary denture was able to move from side to side, using the soft tissues to take away some of the load from the hard palate.

B, A single tooth endosseous blade implant was tapped into the bone between the buccal and lingual peripheral struts of the subperiosteal implant. C, The tissues were sutured around the neck of the blade. D, A gold mesostructure and denture containing internal clip bars were fabricated.
