mix of acrylic was pushed between the peripheral rails of the template, thereby locking the terminal protruding portions of the pins. The hardened acrylic was trimmed flush with the occlusal rims of both rails (Fig. 10-208).

An elastic impression was taken of the entire template with an occlusal bite record to complete the palateless denture (Fig. 10-209). (The denture also could have been prefabricated from the original gold double rail template, since the acrylic was not intended to extend beyond the occlusal borders of the double rails. If done in this manner, the technician merely had to fill in the space between both rails with stone or plaster before fabricating the denture.)
