Maxillary endosseous implant interventions 423

Fig. 10-139. A, The first portion of the prosthesis is completed from the master stone model. It includes the scalloped template with two holes to accommodate the small set screws used to secure it to the implants. A temporary acrylic splint is also seen. B, Another view of the prosthesis shows how the set screws secure the implants to the template. C, The temporary acrylic splint should fit accurately to the template.

Fig. 10-140. A, The prosthesis is cemented over the three remaining teeth on the right side and the template is further secured with the set screws engaging the implants. B, The screws fit flush with the template.

10-140). The temporary acrylic splint was also placed in the mouth over the template, and the occlusion was closely checked and adjusted (Fig. 10-141).

Everything was removed, holes were drilled for the triplants, and the substructure was cemented over the teeth with hard cement. The pin implants were then driven through the predetermined holes (Fig. 10-142). Excess length was cut off and the posts were built up with acrylic cores. When the acrylic hardened, the cores were prepared for crown restorations (Fig. 10-143).

The fixed partial denture was completed from

1 Portion of maxillary prosthesis completed using master stone model
2 Set screws securing maxillary dental implants to the template
3 Temporary maxillary acrylic splint fitting accurately to the template
