Maxillary endosseous implant interventions 397

All necessary impressions were taken, including a wax interocclusal record of centric relation, with various try-ins until the final full arch fixed denture with its posterior scalloped template was processed. The template, which was rigidly attached to the upper left cuspid, had a vertical post and vertical mushroom-shaped pin heads (Fig. 10-41). The peripheral borders of the template were scalloped to allow the mucosal tissue, over which the template fitted passively, to blend itself into the interproximal embrasures.

The impression for the one-piece four-unit bridge, or superstructure, was accomplished by first pouring quick-setting stone over the pin heads. When the stone hardened, it was prepared for full crown restorations. An elastic impression was taken over the stone cores and gold posts from which the superstructure was to be waxed, cast, and processed (Fig. 10-42).

The full arch splint was then tried in the mouth and adjusted. A radiograph was taken of the area
