396 Theories and techniques of oral implantology

Case 5

A full arch acrylic veneer bridge for a unilaterally edentulous posterior area using a template

and a triplant

This patient's remaining teeth were in poor condition and very unattractive (Fig. 10-39). After all periodontal conditions had been alleviated, the teeth were prepared for full crown restorations (Fig. 10-40).

Fig. 10-39. Preoperative photograph reveals caries, separation of teeth, and lack of proper occlusion.

Fig. 10-42. The superstructure is also prefabricated.

Fig. 10-40. The remaining teeth are prepared after proper periodontal therapy.

Fig. 10-43. The prosthesis is cemented over the prepared abutment teeth with hard cement and then the pin implants (arrows) are driven through the template.

Fig. 10-41. A prefabricated full arch fixed denture is completed. Here the tiny projections that help fuse the pin implants to the template are seen extending vertically from the scalloped template.

Fig. 10-44. The pins are affixed together with cold cure resin material.
