rectly over the duplicated shafts. The final impression can also be accomplished with elastic impression materials, if desired.

Case 16

A removable prosthesis for an edentulous mandible using vertical post implants with a connecting bar

When a fixed full arch denture that is easily re-movable is desired, the following technique can be used. In the patient in this case, the implants were first set into the bone (Fig. 9-159). Interchangeable copings were then placed over them.

A plaster index was immediately taken and the master model poured. A round or oval gold bar can be soldered to the copings in an around-the-arch fashion (Fig. 9-160), or a vertical connecting bar may be cast and soldered to the copings (Fig. 9-161). The prosthesis, with a groove made on its undersurface, will fit over the bar (Fig. 9-162). The completed superstructure, consisting of copings connected by a gold bar, was cemented over the implants with hard cement (Fig. 9-163) .
