with which they have only a topographic relationship. At the level of the ganglion, the superior posterior nasal nerves branch off and supply various parts of the nasal conchae and septum. That branch supplying the septum — the nasopalatine nerve — interests the implantologist primarily because it passes from the nasal into the oral cavity to innervate anterior dental sites.

The main portion of the pterygopalatine nerve passes down-ward through the pterygopalatine fossa and canal as the palatine nerve (12), which branches just before it enters the oral cavity
