Pterygoid extension unilateral lef

One tooth is prepared (I) to support a restoration with a cantilevered female attachment (2). With this restoration temporarily seated, the site is exposed for an impression (3), which picks up the restoration as well (4). The implant is made, with a broad flat palatal arm that extends forward almost to the bone investing the teeth (5,6). The copings to bear the prosthesis sit outside the ridge (7), leaving ample space to close the soft tissues under them. The fenestrated buccal arm remains on the tuberosity and does not advance anteriorly over the fragile bone covering the sinus. The implant is inserted (8,9), and the tissues heal beautifully over it (10). With the splint cemented in position (11), the patient enjoys a full complement of attractive maxillary teeth.
