This is one of the latest cases, as illustrated by the considerable reduction in the implant's bulk and the limited extent over the buccal face of the ridge of the posterior portion of the implant. As is typical, the patient's ridge is revealed for an impression (1) and sutured closed (2) until the implant can be designed and fabricated. The implant (3,4) is uncomplicated in design. It fits exactly over the re-exposed ridge (5 through 8), with the labial portions (5,6) snug against the ridge and the anterior nasal spine, and the palatal bar (7,8) closely adapted to the ridge. The site is sutured (9,10), and the patient dismissed until adequate healing takes place for an accurate impression for the final prosthesis. The final case pleases the patient functionally and esthetically.
