Full arch blades

External appearance (1) is rarely an accurate indication for what lies under maxillary soft tissues. Here the totally edentulous ridge was wide and deep enough to support a full complement of bladevents, bent (3) to fit appropriately into their respective sites (4 through 8). Further paralleling can be accomplished in the mouth—only with bladevents.—by tapering the posts with a drill (9). The healed tissues (10) and an impression (11) clearly illustrate the amount of bladevent support possible in good bone. The final restoration (12) is secure, and natural in feel and appearance.
