PARTIAL MAXILLARY SUBPERIOSTEAL IMPLANTS WITH HORIZONTAL TRANSFIXATIONS

Horizontal pins may be used to help stabilize and support a maxillary subperiosteal implant. In this case, a 32-year-old man was missing right maxillary central and lateral teeth (Fig. 12-85) . He had neither decay nor fillings in any of his maxillary teeth. His anterior quadrant flared out anteriorly so that there was an overjet of about 5 or 6 mm. over the lower teeth. In order to spare the neighboring teeth from full crown restorations, a unilateral subperiosteal im-
