Fig. 9-66. The anterior portion of the prosthesis was processed with acrylic facings. Extending from it and soldered to it are both the scalloped templates.

Fig. 9-67. The prosthesis is fitted into position and then cemented.

At the next visit the prosthesis was tried in the mouth and seated with soft cement (Fig. 9-67), and the set screws were screwed through the template and into the internally threaded vent-plants (Fig. 9-68). The bite was checked anteriorly, and all adjustments were made.

A final bite and a full mouth impression of the lower jaw with the prosthesis in place were taken (Fig. 9-69) . From this the two unilateral fixed partial dentures were fabricated (Fig. 9-70).

Both of the unilateral bridges were set into position over the template with temporary cement (Fig. 9-71). In this manner, if any future trouble were to arise, the two bridges could easily be re-moved.

Fig. 9-68. A, The set screws are screwed through the template and into the internally threaded underlying vent-plants on the right side. B, The set screws are then inserted on the left side.

Fig. 9-69. A rubber base impression is taken for the fabrication of both posterior superstructures.
