Fig. 9-58. The vent-plants are set deeply into the alveolar bone. (Front Linkow, L. I.: Prefabricated mandibular prostheses for intraosseous implants, J. Prosth. Dent. 20[4]: 365-375, 1968.)

Fig. 9-59. The bridge is fitted into position over the implants and then removed. (From Linkow, L. I.: Prefabricated mandibular prostheses for intraosseous implants, J. Prosth. Dent. 20 [4] :365-375, 1968.)

and placed into the vent (Fig. 9-57). Then the implant is screwed into its socket, which was prepared to its full depth by helical burs.

With the vent-plants seated (Fig. 9-58), the operation proceeded in the normal manner. The bridge was tried over the implants and any necessary adjustments in the size of the holes made (Fig. 9-59). Gold copings were placed over the implants (Fig. 9-60), acrylic was placed inside the holes to pick up the copings, and the prosthesis was trimmed, polished, and permanently seated with oxyphosphate of zinc cement (Fig. 9-61).
