stone model poured into the index. This eliminated a double casting technique.

To fit the temporary prefabricated acrylic splint into position over the natural tooth abutments and implant shafts, the occlusal surfaces of the shafts were marked with indelible pencil. The markings were transferred to the tissue-bearing surfaces of the acrylic splint (Fig. 9-17). With a vulcanite bur, two holes were made to accommodate the protruding implant shafts. These holes were very generous and larger than the shafts to ensure an easy fit. Once
