The mylohyoid ridge is the highest area in this severely resorbed mandible, fig. 54, which is so often mistaken for the "crest" of the ridge when looking at it when covered with soft tissues as seen at the bottom of fig. 55. Usually it is better to use two anterior abutment teeth to help support the unilateral subperiosteal implant, figs. 59, 60, 61.
