In a totally edentulous mandible with fresh sockets, fig. 43, double posted "socket blades" with their recessed shoulders work extremely well as long as they are buried properly. Fig. 44 shows the socket blades and posterior blades. Healing over the sockets is just as excellent as in the ones away from the sockets, fig. 45.
