Latest Linkow 5 piece total symphyseal-ramus system: R2S`5'

The typical implant candidate for a five piece symphyseal-ramus system, WS', is the one who exhibits adequate bone in the symphyseal region with little or no bone in both posterior quad-rants. In fact many of these cases include exposures or dehiscencies of one or both inferior alveolar nerves. (Fig. 1) .

The proper blade is selected for it's length and depth (Fig. 2). An anterior incision is made and the appropriate bone groove is created. (Fig. 3) .

The symphyseal blade is then bent to passively fit the curved groove (Figs. 4 & 5).

It is then carefully tapped into it's proper position (Figs. 6 and 7) and sutured (Fig. 8).
